Job Summary:
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the full range of accounting functions, including closing the books, cost accounting, inventory management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English and Spanish), has a strong background in accounting within a manufacturing environment, and possesses excellent communication and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Close the monthly and annual books in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare financial statements and reconcile accounts.
- Implement and manage cost accounting processes to track production costs and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct periodic reconciliations.
- Liaise with management to provide financial insights and reporting.
- Work collaboratively with teams in both Mexico and California to streamline accounting processes.
- Develop and improve financial policies and internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory management.
- Proficiency in closing books and preparing financial statements.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (Quickbooks a plus).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
